Hello, I'm Nick Murphy, a recent graduate of App Academy with a passion for technology and education. Prior to my transition into the tech industry, I worked as a high school math teacher for two and a half years, where I honed my skills in communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

During my time at App Academy, I gained valuable experience in software development, including full-stack web development using JavaScript, React, Redux, Python, SQL, Express, and Flask. I am excited to apply my skills and knowledge to a new role in the tech industry, where I can continue to learn, grow, and make a positive impact.

Aside from my technical expertise, I am a team player who is dedicated to collaboration and effective communication. I thrive in fast-paced environments and am always seeking out new challenges and opportunities to learn.

    In my role as a web developer at Rainforest Partnership, I've had the privilege of supporting an organization committed to safeguarding rainforests and the rights of Indigenous and local communities. Rainforest Partnership's mission, initiated in 2007, focuses on addressing the challenge of deforestation through a multifaceted approach, from ground-level conservation projects with rainforest communities to global initiatives like World Rainforest Day. Having personally witnessed the devastating impact of deforestation in the Amazon, I am immensely proud to dedicate my skills to an organization that is making a tangible difference in this crucial region. My responsibilities as a Web Developer have included identifying and resolving website bugs, resulting in improved functionality and responsiveness, and redesigning user interfaces to enhance aesthetics and usability, maintaining full functionality, and ensuring a seamless user experience for over 22k yearly users in 162 countries. I look forward to furthering Rainforest Partnership's mission of protecting indigenous communities and vital rainforests.
